According to published reports, in the field of new energy, guanidine thiocyanate is mainly used as an electrolyte component to prepare new solar cells such as dye-sensitized solar cells and perovskite solar cells, which is of great value to improve the stability of cells.

Designed a quasi-solid electrolyte with ionic liquid, inorganic layered materials and guanidine thiocyanate as the main components, which has the characteristics of uniform component distribution and good stability, and can significantly improve the long-term stability and photoelectric conversion efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells.


Xiong Juan et al. Prepared an efficient perovskite solar cell by doping guanidine thiocyanate. They effectively improved the photoelectric efficiency of perovskite solar cell by introducing guanidine salt and thiocyanate ion. Experiments show that the battery efficiency without guanidine thiocyanate decreases to about 50% of the initial value, while the battery with guanidine thiocyanate can still maintain 80% of the initial efficiency. The addition of guanidine thiocyanate greatly improved the stability of the battery. In addition, the addition of guanidine thiocyanate can significantly improve the hysteresis of the battery.
