Ammonium Sulfamate can absorb moisture in the air; it is insoluble in methanol and ethanol. It is hygroscopic. Decomposes by heat, releasing a large amount of inert gas.
Ammonium Sulfamate can explode when heated, and explode spontaneously in a hot acid solution. Combustion produces toxic nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide gases. The warehouse is ventilated, low temperature and dry; it is stored and transported separately from the food raw materials and can be used as a non-selective herbicide.
Ammonium Sulfamate is widely used in pesticides, printing and dyeing, tobacco, building materials, textiles and other industrial sectors. It is an important raw material for the production of soybean herbicide-imazethapyr and curing agent. It can be used as resin crosslinking accelerator, softener and flame retardant for paper and textiles. In the United States, it is widely used as a tree decay agent to wither some unwanted trees and shrubs, which is of great significance to the establishment of forest fire belts.
